Brief: The large project in the Swarcliffe area of Leeds consists of demolishing three 1960's multi-storey blocks of flats to make way for a regeneration programme that is set to have a dramatic effect on the estate's landscape.
Two of the blocks at Swarcliffe are twelve stories high, the third is fifteen stories, which is beyond the reach of conventional machines. A demolition machine, the largest in Europe was bought in to take away the top floors of the blocks and a 30 metre reach kit is used to take it from there.
