Details: GBM Demolition was very pleased to be appointed by supermarket chain Aldi to carry out the asbestos removal, demolition, ground remediation and piling mat construction on the former ABM Malt Kiln, in its home town of Louth.
Built in 1949 to an American design, the structure stood 46m tall at its highest point. Running directly adjacent and parallel to a main access road into the town, it was 130m long and 21m wide.

Details: After months of hard work and negotiations by the estimating team, the contract to demolish the British Sugar Factory at York, was secured, and work commenced on the 6th May 2008.
The site covers some 90 acres and was originally planned to be demolished over a 32-week programme; however, it was completed 3 weeks in front of schedule.

Demolition Project: Strip exisiting cold store back to shell

Brief: GBM Demolition was contracted to carry out the complete strip out of the very large Tesco Middleton Cold Store, including CFC removal, polystyrene panel removal, office soft strip, M&E removals, plant room removals and fuel storage tank decommissioning.

Brief: Rennie House was previously in the ownership of the supermarket chain Sainsbury's, and was used for many years as an office and counting house.
Project: Demolition of Beechdale Baths
Client: Nottingham City Council, through G F Tomlinson

Brief: Having completed numerous large projects in and around Nottingham in recent years GBM Demolition was very pleased to secure the asbestos removal, demolition and cut & fill works on the local landmark swimming pool known as Beechdale Baths.
New Tesco Store – Typhoon Warehouse, Lincoln
Project: Demolition of Large Asbestos Clad Warehouses
Client: Bowmer and Kirkland
Programme: 8 Weeks
Brief: GBM Demolition was contracted to clear large areas of asbestos clad warehousing in readiness for the further development of a Tesco store in Lincoln. The works involved manual separation from retained structures, asbestos removal, CFC insulation disposals, superstructure demolition, substructure removal and crushing of hardcore to 6F5 grading for re-use in the development.

Brief: GBM Demolition was contracted by Kier Regional Ltd to carry out the asbestos removal, demolition and site civilisation of the former Stanground College in Peterborough, following the recent completion of a new school building in the grounds.
